Blog 5 ❤️
Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. Today, in my fifth blog post, I will talk about five changes to my study program. First at all, I'm in my second year of dentistry school, so I'll discuss what I've experienced so far.
to introduce you in the program, the acamedic load its really demanding: The program lasts approximately 6 years, and I believe the most challenging aspect is that from the fourth year onwards, success not only depends on oneself but also on how committed the patient is. Up to this point, we've studied various subjects such as anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, etc. All these courses differ in the way they are conducted because each subject is taught by different professors, each one with different methods. However, they share something in common – at the end of each unit, assessment is done through a theoretical exam.
I think, on the other side, for being the most important and prestigious dental school in the country, it is very inefficient since several times there are no classrooms available for students. On the other hand, the beneficial aspect is that the dental clinic is very close, which is excellent for transporting materials. Also, following the same line, sometimes the signal fails, and in my opinion, we don't have very advanced technology, which ultimately affects our quality as future healthcare professionals and the patients themselves. I have often experienced technological shortcomings in the dental clinic.
But I love my career❤️❤️

I feel the same way as you, Catalina. It's incredible that despite studying at the top-ranked university for dentistry in Chile, we still notice so many shortcomings from within. This makes me wonder how things must be for people studying dentistry at other universities within the country.
